Beginner Aerial Hoop/LYRA

Aerial hoop (Also known as Lyra, or Circeaux) is a suspended steel ring, much like a hula hoop in which an acrobat performs stunning displays of strength, skill and grace while on stage. It's origins have evolved from tradition swinging trapeze and gymnastics.

This class is beginner friendly, and will help students develop core, upper body strength and flexibility needed to build smooth transitions between basic aerial skills and manoeuvres.

  • Sundays from 2:15pm - 3:15pm

  • $20 to sign up
  • Spaces are limited
  • E-Transfer to to hold your spot
  • Bring a water bottle
  • Baggy clothing is preferred, no fancy clothes necessary
  • Remove rings and loose jewellery before class as it can be damaged by the steel lyra
  • Wear tight fitting stretchy pants that cover the backs of your knees, and a shirt that can be tucked in
  • Positive attitude!
  • Please arrive on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may be refused entry as warm-up is crucial to prevent injury.
  • Beginner friendly class with most fitness levels welcome
  • Advise Matthew of any medical issues that she should be aware of.
  • Avoid eating heavy meals 1-2 hours before class. Classes can be physically demanding and you will be upside down at some point during the lesson.
